The Group A winner in the CONCACAF Gold Cup will be known today when Mexico takes on Costa Rica at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The Mexicans lead the group with six points while the Costa Ricans are two points behind them.

Mexico is coming off a 5-0 rout of Cuba. Tournament leading scorer Javier Hernandez led the charge with two goals. Giovani dos Santos also had a brace while Aldo de Nigris scored for the second consecutive match.

Costa Rica, meanwhile, needed a last-minute goal to salvage a draw against El Salvador.  Randall Brenes nailed a goal late into injury time as Los Ticos avoided an upset.

The Mexicans will play the Costa Ricans without five of their players, who were suspended after their urine samples showed traces of banned substances. Among those dropped from the squad were starting goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa and defender Francisco Rodriguez.

"These are the circumstances and you have to adapt to it, you have to play with the possibilities that you have," Mexico head coach Jose Manuel de la Torre told the Chicago Tribune.

"It's what we have and we have to work with it."

Mexican officials said clenbuterol, a prescription decongestant that can be classified as a performance enhancement drug, was found in the urine of the players and it may have come from contaminated meat.
