Will Canada win the Gold Cup?

Stephen Hart, manager of the Canada soccer team which has been lauded as something of a surprise package at this year's CONCACAF Gold Cup, has chosen to remain calm and grounded whilst those around him lose their heads. Amid a flurry of media hype and inevitable heightened expectations, Hart's words have painted him as the picture of quiet satisfaction: "We are just happy to get the two victories and to be playing consistently. Whether we are the surprise of the tournament or not that's other people's thoughts".

Calm or not, Hart's words fail to detract from the fact that Canada, a team left bitterly disappointed by their failure to succeed in World Cup qualification, could secure top position in Group A tonight in their final group stage clash.

Costa Rica, a team still hopeful of taking part in next year's World Cup, are sure to provide a stern test for the Canadian players but they'll take spirit from the fact that a win or a draw will see them through to the quarter-finals as group leaders
